Arriving this summer is OSX Mountain Lion, the next generation of OSX migrating towards feautures loved on the iPhone and iPad. Making social media more asseciable and bringing feautures like messages and twitter into the interface of every Mac.
Do We Really Want this Direction
The Apple Mac has always been seen as a serious bit of kit used by design and creative professionals. With the realease of Final Cut X in 2011 Apple showed that there focus with thier high level machines and software, was now towards a more mass market.
This was probably driven by the success of the iPod, iPhone, iTunes and now the App Store. Selling at high volume brings high returns, but does this mean the Macintosh line has to follow in the same vien? Many professionals were left disappointed with the release of Final Cut X and Apples withdrawal from several professional shows and conferences, fealing that they are now not the companies focus as there simply isn’t the same levels of return on investment in the creaitve marketplace. The Mac Pro has now not been updated since July 2010 and is now being caught up in performace by the iMac.
Do we reaaly want our iPad to work in the same way as our desktop Mac? As a professional wedding photographer surrey I use my Mac to edit photographs in Aperure and Photoshop and use Indesign to create any albums or Photo-books. I use the iPad to capture images to show clients on the day of the shot and to email off proofs. I like the iPad interface for photographs, they show up vibrant and show the images off really well. I like them operating in different ways and perforing different tasks well.

Changing it Back to Snow Leopard
1) Changing back to normal scroll from reverse scroll under Mouse preferences.
2) Displaying the lovely scroll bars under General preferences.
3) No Restore. I like starting a clean slate on a new day not cleaning up yeesterdays mess!U Uncheck restore windows in the General pane.
4) Restoring Libary folder! Controversially Lion hides the Library folder, type (chflags nohidden -/Library) in terminal to get it back.
5) Mail: Apple has redesigned the layout in various applications. The major one of these is Mail, to change back to the classic look under the view tab in the preferences select classic layout.
