This weekend I am going to tackle my living room flooring. A few years ago we had some rather nice hardwood flooring installed. At the time we thought it would look good to have this flooring stained with quite a dark tone. After living with the colour for a couple of years I think we can safely say this was an error. The room needs a lighter tone on the floor. So to remedy this I am going to sand down the flooring back to the original wood colour.
Once I have got to this stage I will pop to the local DIY store to get some stain and/or varnish samples. I am not 100% sure on what colour to go for. I like oak colouring but it is very common and I want to stand out from the crowd a little. Maybe is tone of ample will look good? The only way to find out for sure is to test it on the floor itself.
